Things that might happen during your first year of parenthood:
1. You’ll get covered in a ‘nuclear’ poo.
2. You’ll be convinced your son is talking with a Japanese accent.
3. You’ll worry that when your son waves, it looks like a Nazi salute.
Of course, this might just be Harry Spencer.
Taking up where This Thirtysomething Life left off, Harry Spencer and is wife Emily are back and trying to survive their first year of parenthood. It has its ups and downs (and a few bits in the middle), but along the way they begin to understand the true meaning of family and what it takes to be a parent.
Featuring a hilarious cast of extras including Harry’s father-in-law Derek, who has a unique problem with Scotch, Steve and Fiona, the parents from children’s entertainment hell, and a yoga instructor with a prominent camel-toe, This Family Life is the ultimate comedy for anyone who is a parent, has a parent, or is thinking about becoming one.
Today we have the pleasure to take part in the cover reveal for Emily Harper‘s ‘My Sort-of, Kind-of Hero’. We are way too excited to read it and it’s no secret we are HUGE fans of Emily’s. We absolutely loved her two previous books ‘White Lies’ and ‘Checking Inn’ and totally recommend them to everyone enjoying a fun read with loads of LOL moments. Ok, now the moment we’ve all being waiting for, the cover and the blurb, YAY!
Etty Lawrence is a bestselling romance author. At least- she would be if she could just get someone to read her books. Apparently, Amazon doesn t consider the 500 books purchased by your mother to be bestseller material. When Etty s given some simple advice from a friend- write what you know- she takes it to heart. But she’s never been in love before, and she doesn’t really have time to fall in love and write a novel at the same time. So, she convinces her slightly unwilling lifelong friend, Travis, to let her follow him around and witness real love, first hand. A third person memoir, if you will. Travis is the perfect hero for her story: he’s funny, smart, and good looking; only there’s one problem. He says all the wrong things. Does any girl really want to talk about the NHL trades? And his jokes would make a kindergarten class roll their eyes. But the worst part is, Travis’s dates laugh at his corny jokes; the jokes he told Etty first. They touch his sweater; the sweater Etty bought him. And the way these women swoon and gush over him…they obviously aren’t leading lady material. Now Etty has to take this love thing into her own hands if she has any hope of writing a bestseller that people other than her mother will buy.
My Sort-of, Kind-of Hero’ will be published by Writers to Authors on August 21st 2014.

Today we are honored to be taking part in Jenny Oliver’s cover reveal for her second novel, The Vintage Summer Wedding. The cover is simply gorgeous and we absolutely love the vibrant summery colors. We definitely look forward to reading Jenny’s new book. The Vintage Wedding will be published by Carina UK on May 22nd.
A Vera Wang dress, a sophisticated London reception, and a guest list that reads like a society gossip column were all ingredients of Anna Whitehall’s perfect wedding-that-never-was…
Spending the summer uncovering hidden treasures in a vintage shop, Anna can still vividly remember both her childhood dreams; the first was that she’d become a Prima Ballerina, and dance on stage resplendent in a jewel-encrusted tutu. The second was that at her wedding she would walk down the aisle wearing a dress guaranteed to draw a collective gasp from the congregation!
Years ago Anna pirouetted out of her cosy hometown village in a whirl of ambition…but when both of those fairy-tale dreams came crashing down around her satin ballet shoes, she and fiancée Seb find themselves back, their wedding and careers postponed indefinitely…
Don’t they say that you can never go home again? Sometimes they don’t get it right… This one summer is showing Anna that your dreams have to grow up with you. And sometimes what you think you wanted is just the opposite of what makes you happy….

For three days only, Elle Field’s Geli Voyante’s Hot Or Not is FREE on Amazon. Yes, you heard right, FREE! Download the book and get lost in the world of Geli and her Hot or Not column.
“I think I will always be known as the Hot or Not girl, defined by it for the rest of my career. Even my tombstone will read: Angelica “Geli” Voyante, beloved trendsetter. Death? Not Hot.
Yet, it doesn’t sound right. Why won’t anyone realise that there is more to me than this fickle persona I have inadvertently become?”
Geli Voyante is bored of being the Hot or Not girl, even if it has the perk of sitting next to Theo, the newspaper’s very Hot political columnist. She’s also getting a little lonely being single.
When her arch-nemesis Tiggy Boodles gets engaged, and other loved ones start to settle down, it’s time for Geli to convince Theo that she’s not as shallow as her column suggests and, more importantly, she’s the one for him. Geli should remember though that there are always two sides to every story, and that applies to people too…
Elle Field is a twenty-something chick lit author who lives in London with her boyfriend. She enjoys exploring and photographing Blighty’s capital, seeing far too many musicals, and eating her way around London’s culinary delights.
Her debut novel Kept was released in 2013, followed by Geli Voyante’s Hot or Not later that year. Look out for Lost, Kept’s sequel, in 2014.
